Aoi Shibuya (渋谷 アオイ, Shibuya Aoi^?) is a main character in Digimon Survive.

Appearance

Aoi is a teenage girl with fair skin, shoulder-length black hair, which is worn in a ponytail, and grey eyes. She wears a white collared shirt, a purple sweater vest, black pants, and purple sneakers with white soles.

During development, Aoi went through multiple design changes. In the first design, she had much shorter hair and had a white and blue long sleeve, white collared sweater. This design appears to have been reused and tweaked for Miyuki Minase. Another beta design was similar to the final design, though featured a more stylised white long sleeved shirt with pink lines on the collar, with a green tie. She also had pink pants. The bobble in her hair was also black, rather than the finalised pink.

Description

An honest and gentle upperclassman, with an articulate personality. She handles the cooking and security of the base. She is very serious and calm and is always able to keep her cool. She is also the class representative and she is used to handling unreasonable requests from her classmates. Aoi is from a different middle school than Takuma and Minoru. Aoi sees herself as unreliable, so relies on the support of Labramon, who has a unfaltering and friendly personality. Her responsible and den-motherly nature leads her to become the de-facto leader of the group following Takuma's disappearance.

In the wrathful route, after seeing Saki Kimishima die, Aoi's mental health takes a turn for the worst. She blames herself for her death, convincing herself she had had let go on purpose since she was jealous of her (with this not being the case, as Saki had let go and sacrificed herself to save Aoi) and decides that to atone for killing Saki she would save everyone else's lives to make up for it. She decides she never wants to see anyone ever die again and wants everyone in the world to become friends so no one would ever get hurt again. This causes her to heal Piedmon in a mistaken assumption that he would befriend her as thanks which results in her fusing with Labramon to become Plutomon when on the verge of death at Piedmon's hands. She then decides that she would fuse with every single living being, since if everyone is fused together as one no one would ever be able to be hurt again.

Fiction

One day, on the way back home from school, Aoi did a long melancholy sigh after she had found out that the classmate that had asked her to take over their class-duty for the day had done so because they were just using her to avoid doing work, knowing she would agree to do it for them. One of the teachers found out about this and yelled at her for agreeing to help, which just upset her even more since she just wanted to help people and thought she was doing the right thing. As she tried to sort out these emotions she read a flyer she had picked up from school and learned about the extracurricular camp and thought it would be a good idea to go, since she could use it as a break from all the work she had been doing and found herself excited about what she might end up doing at the camp.

Plutomon

This happens in the wrathful route.

Plutomon is Aoi's Mega form after fusing with Labramon. It is stated to be a dark evolution. As Piedmon suffers from his wounds from the previous battles, he winds up coming across Aoi and Labramon in the forest. Aoi, who's mental health had taken a turn for the worst having seeing Saki Kimishima die, had decided she never wanted to see anyone ever die again, or get hurt, and so, despite him being their enemy, and Labramon pointing out it's a bad idea, Aoi tells Labramon to heal Piedmon. She tries to get Piedmon to join their side as she wanted everyone in the entire world to be friends so that no one would ever fight again, however he turns her down and strangles her. As her life begins to fade, Labramon tries to heal her but Piedmon attacks Labramon and beats her so badly she ends up near to death as well. The other children arrive, as they had been looking for them, and see the duo on the brink of death. They try to help their dying friends, though Piedmon attacks them to stop them. They beat Piedmon up so badly that he falls on the verge of death too, and laughs as even though he will die he still won as he got to take Aoi and Labramon with him. Aoi's desire to live causes a dark energy to form between her and Labramon, with the dark energy forcing Labramon to be absorbed into Aoi. This causes Aoi and Labramon to become Plutomon, who, desiring revenge against Piedmon, brutally murder him. She then claims that she could sense Saki, and that Saki told her to to save the world. Aoi, now with the power of Plutomon, decides she would take over and rule the world so that she would use her powers to bring peace and harmony to the world, and would kill anyone who would try to stop her. She casts away her humanity and decides she is now Plutomon. Having already fused with Labramon, Plutomon decides she needs to fuse with every living being so that they can all become one and live in peace and harmony together as one being and figures the best way to do that would be to absorb Master since he had the power to absorb others so if she absorbed him, she could absorb everyone else as well. As this wasn't good for the children, they realize they had no choice but to stop Aoi and fight her. Plutomon proves to be too strong for them though, as she defeats them easily in only one attack. She claims she went easy on them, since it was only their first offence, and gives them another chance to join her stating that she would not accept them if they make another mistake and would kill them if they refused. The group, scared of what Aoi had become, say nothing as They were speechless. Plutomon assumes this meant they had agreed to join with her and leaves to find Master so she can start the process. She goes to the shrine, where Master rests, and blows the locked door open to get to him. Master summons Kenzoku to try and stop her, though she absorbs them all. She realizes that master had absorbed the souls of Saki, Shuuji Kayama, and Ryo Tominaga, and so if she absorbed master they'd all get to be together again just like before. The others try to tell her to stop and to come back to the human world with them, with Plutomon misunderstanding and assuming they wanted her to fuse with everyone there so they could all be one. This spurs Plutomon on to do just that though after they correct her she attacks them so they can't stop her plan with the intention to fuse with them so they could be together forever. The children are able to defeat Plutomon, after which Kaito tries to kill her to stop her plan though the others talk him down to give her the chance to change back. She refuses to do so though, stating that if she did more of her friends would die. Realizing they have no choice, the group prepare to kill her though are shocked as Renamon suddenly ceases to exist with everyone learning that Miyuki had just died with Master having taken in the last of her soul. As the others are shocked, Plutomon leaves to confront the Master so that she could absorb him. Upon arriving to Master's location, they see Master defeat Plutomon. As Plutomon begins to die from her wounds, she starts to apologize to the others for her actions though is absorbed by Master just as she started to. Though he absorbed her, this was part of Plutomon's plan since she knew the others would want to kill Master to avenge her death which Plutomon figured would allow her to absorb master easier. This was proven to be the case, with Plutomon able to absorb Master to create Plutomon (Fusion). Though Plutomon (Fusion) was defeated by her friends, with her reverting back to Aoi, she didnt mind as everyone master had absorbed had fused with her as well, which meant her goal fusing together with every lifeform in existence was going according to plan. As Aoi now had the power of Master, who had gained the power from Miyuki to open gates to the Human World, she continues on with her plan and opens up a gate to the Human World. The others try to stop her again, with Aoi becoming Plutomon to fight them. She is defeated and finally realizes she was wrong but dies from her wounds. Attacks Hell's Gate: Causes a gigantic mouth to appear from the darkness and swallows villains whole, disassembling those who have been swallowed into scraps of fragmented data.

Plutomon (Fusion)

Plutomon (Fusion) is Aoi's Super Ultimate form. After Master absorbs Plutomon, Plutomon is able to take over causing the creation of Plutomon (Fusion). After Aoi sees Saki Kimishima die, her mental health takes a turn for the worst and she decides she doesn't want to see anyone ever die again and that everyone in the world should be friends and never fight again. This lead to her healing Piedmon, under a false assumption that he would be her friend as thanks. Piedmon proceeds to brutally attack both Aoi and Labramon, leaving them both on the verge of death. Aoi's desire to live causes Labramon to be absorbed into her, which then has Aoi become Plutomon. Plutomon then comes to the conclusion that she should fuse with every single being in existence, since if they're all one entity then no one can ever fight again. To be able to do this, she realizes she would need Master's power since he could absorb others and goes to him to try to but this plan into action. When the other children arrive to Master's location, they see Master defeat Plutomon. As Plutomon begins to die from her wounds, she starts to apologize to the others for her actions though is absorbed by Master just as she started to.
