Dokugumon is an Insectoid Digimon. It is a cursed Digimon in the shape of a spider, whose entire body has been parasitised by a computer virus. While it was originally a spider-type, it had a docile personality typical of insect-type Digimon; however, at some point, it was drawn into a powerful electromagnetic storm and infected by a computer virus that had been circulating around the Network. Since then, it has become but a lump of poison, or, in other words, a computer virus, that corrodes anything it touches. Not only that, special mention has to be given to its great movement speed, made possible thanks to its eight legs. No matter how desperately one tries to get away, Dokugumon will never be far behind, and it will not stop its chase until the opponent ceases to continue running out of exhaustion.[5] They are presided over by their queen, Arukenimon.[6]

Digimon Survive[]

A giant Dokugumon and its many smaller Dokugumon minions take over the abandoned school, and kidnap those who enter. It traps them in its web and slowly drains their life force until they die. When the children visit the school, mistakenly thinking it was the school they had previously visited, the Dokugumon kidnap some of the group and trap them in the gym. The others are able to get into the gym through the secret passage the Dokugumon used due to help from Haru and Miyuki Minase though the large amount of Champion level Digimon prove too much for Agumon and his friends. Before they could be defeated, Agumon digivolves to the Champion level, defeats the Dokugumon alongside its allies, and saves their kidnapped friends.

A group of Dokugumon, possibly the same ones as before, work as minions for Arukenimon. When she is able to trick some of the kids into getting into a cable car with her, they attack the car and cover it in their webs — putting a stop to it. They fight alongside her against those that hadn't got on with her, with them able to free the trapped children and partner Kemonogami. The freed group then join the others and defeat Arukenimon and her minions — though Arukenimon claims she was holding back and leaves.

The Dokugumon accompany Arukenimon to the waterway and attack the children once again. Arukenimon's actual plan was to kidnap Miyuki, and though she and some of her minions are defeated, some of her other Dokugumon are able to kidnap her as Arukenimon was using herself as a distraction to keep the other kids busy. Arukenimon and all the Dokugumon run away with their hostage, though they are confronted by Renamon who proceeds to kill every single Dokugumon. The trail of Dokugumon corpses allows the children to find Arukenimon as they simply follow the dead bodies to find her.

Dokugumon evolves from Gotsumon and can evolve to Andromon, Monzaemon, and Etemon. If Takuma Momozuka is able to befriend a Dokugumon and asks it for an item, it will give him a Big Bandage.
