The mysterious little Digimon known as Dorumon, characterized by the strange stone in his forehead, is, in actuality, not a Digimon but an artificial being created by Yggdrasill, the sentient computer that controls the Digital World, with the intention of using him to bring about the second phase of its Project Ark scheme.
Released into the Digital World, Dorumon is ostracized for possessing the X-Antibody and comes under threat from other Digimon, including a Leomon, who seeks to claim the X-Antibody for his own. Fleeing from the Leomon through a forest, Dorumon seems doomed until Leomon relents, knowing that, even with the X-Antibody, he would live no longer. Asking Dorumon to live for him in the new Digital World, he dies.
Bullied by a group of Mushroomon and forced to flee into a river, Dorumon comes to rest in an old temple in a barren region of the plain, where he soon comes into contact with WarGreymon X, who is in the middle of a battle with Omnimon and requests that Dorumon look after Tokomon until he returns. Dorumon agrees, happy to have a friend, but the duo soon witnesses another attack by Omnimon on a herd of innocent Digimon and, though they both bravely attempt to fight back against the Royal Knight, almost become victims themselves until WarGreymon X and MetalGarurumon X arrive to save them. In the course of the ensuing battle, however, Tokomon is fatally injured and MetalGarurumon X uses his X-Antibody to resurrect him as Tokomon X. Weakened by this, MetalGarurumon X collapses and Dorumon, believing he is dead, is overcome with emotion and memories of Leomon. He digivolves to his Champion form of Dorugamon.
At the end of the movie, Alphamon Ouryuken sacrifices himself to defeat Dexmon, his other half, and gives his X-Antibody to Omnimon in a parallel to what Leomon did for him. He merges with Dexmon and reverts to Dorumon, who is eventually reunited with Tokomon X.
- Metal Cannon: Shoots metallic projectiles from his mouth.
The name "Dorumon" refers only to the Rookie form of this Digimon. Throughout the series, Dorumon gains the ability to digivolve into a number of more powerful forms, each with a different name and special attack. However, the Rookie level is the form Dorumon both begins and ends the movie in.
Dorugamon is Dorumon's Champion form.
After digivolving from Dorumon, Dorugamon is captured by Magnamon and has his data split by Yggdrasill to create DexDorugoramon. DexDorugoramon yields Digi-Eggs that hatch into a swarm of DexDoruGreymon, which Yggdrasill uses to raze the Digital World. After being carried while unconscious through a cavern by Wizardmon, Dorugamon wakes to the DexDoruGreymon swarm and digivolves to DoruGreymon when the emotions from the battle get to him.
DoruGreymon is Dorumon's Ultimate form, a quadrupedal beast who looks like a large red dragon with fur, a white mane, two sets of wings and a tail. His body is covered in spikes.
After Dorugamon digivolves to DoruGreymon to battle the DexDoruGreymon swarm, he is granted access to Yggdrasill's realm by Gallantmon X to learn the secrets of his creation. There, in battle with Omnimon, he assumes his Mega form, revealing at last his true form and destiny—he is Alphamon, legendary leader of the Royal Knights.
When attacked by Omnimon, DoruGreymon digivolves to Alphamon, regaining his memories. He tells Omnimon that he can't forgive Yggdrasill, and thus Omnimon immediately sides with him and takes him to see Yggdrasill. Between the time Alphamon and Omnimon leave Magnamon and the time that they meet DexDorugoramon, he powers up to his Ouryuken form, signified by his wings.
Alphamon Ouryuken is Alphamon when he has wings and the ability to summon the Ultimate-Battle-Blade-OURYUKEN.
After Alphamon powers up to this form, he and Omnimon face DexDorugoramon, whom Alphamon Ouryuken manages to destroy with his Digitalize of Soul attack. They then enter Yggdrasill's inner sanctum to destroy the host computer, but then Dexmon, the reformed DexDorugoramon, appears and a violent battle begins. Alphamon Ouryuken attacks Dexmon—but his body also suffers all damage he inflicts on Dexmon. This causes Alphamon Ouryuken to realize that Dexmon is his "other half", created from the data Yggdrasill removed from Dorugamon's body. Knowing this, he hurls his blade in a boomerang arc and grabs Dexmon as the blade returned, impaling them both. Alphamon Ouryuken transfers his X-Antibody to Omnimon before merging with Dexmon and regressing back to Dorumon.
