Several Digimon have the ability to take on a human form (人間形態 ningen keitai?), or, in some cases, an animal form. This is usually done to avoid detection while in the Human World, and generally hinders their combat abilities.
Possession of a human form is usually a character trait, rather than a species-wide ability, although there are exceptions.

Unlike other "human forms", these are costumes that they often shred to pieces as they reveal themselves. After Miyuki Minase and Akiharu "Haru" Minase are separated in 1970, Renamon disguises himself as Akiharu and pretends to be him tricking Miyuki into thinking Akiharu came back for her. He uses Akiharu's nickname Haru whilst doing so. Renamon did this for thousands of years in alternate world time/50 years in human world time and still used the form after the real Akiharu and Miyuki reunited since he was so used to being in that form.
Arukenimon disguises herself as a human to trick the children. Ryo Tominaga deludes himself into thinking she is his Mother, though he eventually snaps out of it and remembers his Mother is dead.
Kenzoku are able to change their appearance to look like humans (and Kemonogami) and are even able to access their memories to be able to become those they have never seen before. In doing this, they gain those memories and are able to use negative ones to torture their victim by forcing them to relive those negative memories through visions. They use these human/kemonogami forms to trick real ones so that when their guard is down, they can kill them. Depending on route, they are even able to kill some of Takuma Momozuka's friends this way.
In the wrathful route, Aoi Shibuya and Labramon fuse together to become Plutomon. Plutomon then fuses with Master to become Plutomon (Fusion). After Plutomon (Fusion)'s defeat, she reverts back to Aoi though Aoi later turns into Plutomon again meaning she was still a Kemonogami who now had the ability to look like Aoi when she felt like looking like a human.
