Does it ever seem like most Digimon fan-art, even when done by skilled artists, is especially uncreative? They all seem to be the same pseudo-furry art wolf thing, with different armor, colors, and spikes; at least, on Deviant-Art. What's even worse, it's not even a "Digimon"-y type of wolf thing - it always seems to ape or be derived from the Pokemon style, if you know what I mean.

For example - this is all the fan Digimon on the first few pages of deviantart. I think you can see what I'm getting at:

I mean, I'm terrible at full art (which is why I haven't uploaded any of my own fan-digimon yet, since I need to ask a friend to make them look acceptable), but don't you think fan Digimon shouldn't all be basicly the same guy?

So, does anyone have links to really good designs that aren't that generic wolf-y thing?

I myself have no art talent, but give me some time to sort through my bookmarks, and I'm sure I could find some things that aren't furry (not like I'm into that, but you know what I mean). There IS good fan-art that isn't all bestiality and coupling and yaoi and yuri and furry... wait, hang on, in that case, give me lots of time.---- Rad140 "RAWR? I think he was looking for new Digimon designs. NebuNeferu] has more of a human-based Digimon, but there's some original stuff there. At least, no wolves. I fell more in love with the Frontier/Adventure 02 age-ups.

Of course, his(?) writing could use some work.

Now, if you're looking for artwork of the humans, that's another story altogether. Lanate (talk) 06:00, 1 June 2009 (UTC)

I'm mostly looking for Digimon, and I have to say, NebuNeferu has adequate artistic skill, but his/her designs just don't have the Digimon feel. They pretty much just seem like one of those "odd human" designs from various fantasy/D&D-based games or anime.
I guess what I'm mostly complaining about is that so much "Digimon fanart" is not artists trying to actually draw Digimon, but to just rebrand their various anime- and furry-style designs as Digimon. I've got to say, this, this are actually one of the more Digimon-y fanarts I've seen so far (in my entire life). There was some really good ones in the Fan fiction section (something about "warriors of the colors"), but it appears they've been deleted. Now activating Project: SPIDERS EVERYWHERE 07:44, 1 June 2009 (UTC)

I can answer this easily. Look on both here and my DA page and I have LOADS of non-canine Digimon designed already. Honestly, I feel like the only one with the originality even if I don't have the talent for that kind of stuff. FEW, and I mean VERY few people I see on DA do anything that's truly "unique". I always stick with my design style in order to see how I do things. After all, 201 different lines for my B/C project and they can't possibly be ONLY wolves and such as much as the fans want them to be. I chose at least that many inorder to come up with many ideas. I even went as far as to design the "Legendary" Digimon in order to prove a point, because Legendary Pokemon from Pokemon tend to have highly unique designs that try new things each time. So far, I have no designed any kind of canine based line at all. Most of mine have been reptilian or avian based, rarely any mammalian lines I designed so far, which is a good thing. I can point you to several Digimon:

DragoramonDemilimonXILA-MonBrondramon Final

That are all examples of what I am capable of designing.Shiramu-Kuromu 03:47, April 8, 2012 (UTC)
