Gorillamon is a Beast Digimon whose name and design are derived from the Gorilla. It is a Power Digimon endowed with the arm strength to crush anything and the leg strength to crush things underfoot no matter how hard they are. However, it surprises the opponent with light movements that aren't expected from its physique, and siezes the opportunity to add to the attack with the Energy Cannon on its right hand. It found its aesthetic in "Hit And Away".^[1]

Digimon AdventureEdit

A Gorillamon was seen climbing the Empire State Building, a homage to King Kong. It was witnessed by an American boy named Michael, who then became a DigiDestined.

Digimon Adventure 02Edit

Gorillamon officially appeared as a victim of the Digimon Emperor's Dark Spiral. He blasted Digitamamon away and fought Michael's Betamon underwater in the form of Seadramon. In the battle, it was thrown out of the water and Togemon then finished the job by destroying the Dark Spiral with her Light-Speed Jabbing attack. The DigiDestined thought it was a new kind of Dark Spiral in the dub only, but it wasn't.

Digimon TamersEdit

A Gorillamon was the enemy of Terriermon in a videogame of Henry, where it was defeated when Terriermon digivolved to Gargomon. When Terriermon became Henry's partner, Gorillamon appeared in the Real World for revenge. Takato and Guilmon tried their best to fight him before Henry used the Training Grips modify card on him. This allowed Terriermon to throw training weights on Gorillamon, tying him down and allowing Guilmon and Terriermon to apparently defeat him, but he quickly recovered and broke the weights. When Gorillamon tried another Energy Cannon on them, Terriermon aimed his Bunny Blast into his cannon thus destroying him. Henry told Terriermon not to absorb its data and to let it go back to the Digital World.

According to SaberLeomon, a Gorillamon was among the victim's of Akihiro Kurata's Digimon massacre.

Many Gorillamon serve in Apollomon Whispered's army.^{[citation needed]}
