Gulfmon is a Demon Beast Digimon whose name and design are derived from the mythological abyss and hellmouth. It is a dark Digimon that emerged from the abyss of the Dark Area. Its large build is that of a demon beast, as immense as a mountain and possessing sturdy limbs, and attached to its lower half is a "Maw" large enough to swallow everything. What is more, it is said that the hole is connected to the abyss of the Dark Area, and it's said that those who are sucked in have their souls (DigiCores) smashed to pieces and are no longer able to escape. Its power is mighty, and it's also said that it could destroy the world in seven days.[2]
