Fiction

Digimon World -next 0rder-

Originally a student in the same school as Takuto/Shiki, Kouta and Himari, Shoma is named as being the winner of a Digimon keychain battle tournnament back in third grade. When discussing why the three protagonists were pulled into the Digital World, they mention that they were all top contenders in the tournament, and wonder if Shoma would be somewhere in the Digital World as he was a top placer too.

Shoma first appears after Machinedramon is fought in the Server Desert, hiding and observing the protagonists as they fight the altered Digimon, but is not named. He is also shown after Takuto/Shiki defeats Yukimura in his SkullGreymon form, and comments that the mindset of the Digimon may be key to its altered form.

He finally appears to the main cast along with Samudramon and Kuzuhamon to collect the Enforcer after Takuto/Shiki defeats it, and introduces himself. He mentions that Omegamon Zwart D is key to his 'AR Plan' and takes him to an unknown location, while Samudramon and Kuzuhamon cover him.

After he disappears, the main characters study Luche's makeup and discover that the stuffed Numemon doll she carries has been transmitting data to the Singular Zone, where Shoma and the Enforcer are. Using this data, they open a path to the Singular Zone, and meet Shoma in the Core area.

Revealing the AR Plan as a plan to merge every single World into one- Digital and Real alike- he Digivolves Omegamon Zwart D into Omegamon Alter-B and commands it to absorb the Digital World. The protagonist defeats the altered Digimon, however, and breaks Shoma free of the strange data entity possessing him.

Shoma is last seen as the Reincarnation purges the Digital World of the BH Program. Truly repentant, he asks Jijimon if the Reincarnation can deconstruct him as a form of suicide, feeling that he can't atone for the sins he committed under influence. When asked why, he reveals that in the tournament that brought all the human characters together, he cheated and altered his Digimon partner's data in order to win, but could not call himself the winner due to guilt. When his partner could not be reborn because of the alteration, he started over with a new Digiegg.

At this time, Shoma discovered the Digital Dive, and with it, the Digital World. There he delved deeper until he found the Singular Zone, and after finding certain data fragments there, he fell under the influence of (what is assumed to be) Analogman, who used Shoma as an avatar in order to enact his AR Plan. Shoma also found the remains of his old partner, and using data from the Singular Zone, recreated it as Luche, whom he then used as a 'Trojan horse' in order to thwart Floatia and the protagonists.

After this explanation, the protagonists decide to forgive his sins- even Luche, who was arguably the worst affected- though Jijimon warns that he couldn't speak for the Digital World as a whole. Mameo reveals himself to be Shoma's homeroom/Japanese teacher, and after they all make a promise to return to the Digital World after Reincarnation has finished, brings Shoma back to the Real World with him.

After the return to the Digital World, Shoma appears with Omegamon Alter-B, now his Digimon partner and renamed Noir.
