Digimon in new trailer

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=UJp4jkYCPhM

  • Shoutmon
  • Ballistamon
  • Dorurumon
  • At the beginning, there is generic baby Digimon (I can't match them, they have ears like spiky-eared pichu, I guess?), a Jyarimon, and some kind of seahorse shaped thing with a flat nose (kind of like Bakumon) and a spiraling tail.
  • LOTS of little man-sized soldiers.
  • Valvemon(!)
  • Rhinomon
  • Minotarumon
  • Mammon
  • Tankmon
  • Sealsdramon
  • Shoutmon X4 (without Star Sword, possibly X3)
  • Mr. Ghost (Probably a channel mascot, but so cool. I hope they make him a Digimon, too.)
"Mr. Ghost" is from Kaidan Restaurant, the show that currently airs in Xros' time slot. (The promo also aired during the same time slot, hence his/it's appearance). So him ever becoming a Digimon is highly unlikely.---- Rad140 (Message) 23:16, June 8, 2010 (UTC)

They look possessed. Is it some kind of crossover? It would explain the name of the series. Shadow Abyss 19:02, June 21, 2010 (UTC)

  • The pre-commercial eyecatch shows Agumon, Garurumon, Guilmon, and Veemon. Either they're telling us they haven't forgotten the old days, or there's gonna be some crossover (no image, unfortunately).

The digimon are what are called DigiMemories. They can be summoned by inserting the memory into the Xros Loader, and they can use their special attack to fight. I see the light! Oh wait, that’s just a train. 18:52, August 5, 2010 (UTC)

digivice

Can we get a pic of the digivice and add it to the digivices page. Under my other account name, DigigirlsFan, I already questioned this. Can I get an answer please? Answer the door,it's Destiny! 16:12, July 12, 2010 (UTC)

There aren't that many dedicated editors around here, and most of them are busy with other things (namely vandalism), so every single request and message may not get answered. There are a few reasons why this hasn't been dealt with, that I can think of: the show has just begun airing, so we don't know much about the Xros Loader, we don't know if the Xros Loader is actually a Digivice (as it hasn't been called such) or an entirely different device (albeit with a similar purpose), I haven't seen any official pictures/art of the Xros Loader yet (and we're reluctant to use screen caps). Posting the same thing on multiple accounts is not going to get your request answered sooner, in fact, the opposite may hold true. You are also free to take the initiative too and find a picture of it and add it yourself, of course. I hope that answers your question.---- Rad140 (Message) 17:36, July 12, 2010 (UTC)

Manga

So, we need to start a page on the manga, and probably start up chapter things like we do for episodes (really, we should do that for all of the manga). Now activating Project: SPIDERS EVERYWHERE 11:42, July 23, 2010 (UTC)

Yeah, our manga section needs some love. We're missing a lot of the English manga/comics (Dark Horse, etc) too. I think there are RAWs of the first chapter around, and I don't know if it's been translated or not. I read a little bit about the Xros Wars manga, and it looks similar to the anime's storyline, but with a few liberties.---- Rad140 (Message) 17:18, July 23, 2010 (UTC)

Character list reorganization

  1. This is not the character page, so there is no need for in-depth reorganization.
  2. The indentation is for "subordinates", such as members of one's army—ie, DemiDevimon and Gatomon for Myotismon. It is not for "People you protect", such as Dorulumon and Cutemon.
  3. The specific theme of this series is to show "multiple armies", not just "Heroes and Villains", so it is not useful to separate the page as such.
  4. Golemon is listed as an equal member of Blue Flare on the Toei main site.
  5. Although the Bagura Army does have explicit ranks, they are all servants of Baguramon, not each other, and are best arranged by rank, not by who their immediate commander is.69.95.122.56 17:05, August 10, 2010 (UTC)

Power Rangers

I know that talk pages around here are for article improvement, but I've noticed something about the new Digimon: it looks like Power Rangers. Think about it- Shoutmon X4 is a megazord, the enemy Xros are like the giant monsters and robots they fight sometimes, and Tactimon looks like one of the bad guys. --Henry Medals—Broken Mirror 03:55, September 9, 2010 (UTC)

It's more mecha-based actually, from which Power Rangers and their Sentai roots take their inspiration. Lanate (talk) 04:08, September 9, 2010 (UTC)

Info filling

I'm going to try and spend this week re-checking the Xros Wars episode and manga articles, and getting everything but their synopsis up to code. I'm also trying to start the Digimon appearances for each featured character, as you might have seen. For now, every character that appears should have the relevant storylink templates on their page—after that, info can just be filled in by us or even anons. Doing this takes a long time, so it would be extremely helpful if someone could help me with the others.

Also, I'm using the featured character lists to fill out the Bagura Army rosters, 'cause I'm trying to rewrite that page to be more similar to Blue Flare and Twilight, as mentioned on the talk page. However, the first episode has both the "Dream army" and "Green Zone army", so I'd appreciate if someone could check real quick which enemies appear in which. I think we can assume that everything in the dream army (besides Greymon) is Bagura, though.

Just put the rosters, with episode name, in comments for now, as I'd like the actual sections to be prose discussions of the army as a whole, rather than the irksome bulleted lists they are now. Do you guys think the Zone commanders for each should be merged in, as well? I was thinking as having them be subsections within the army section, but some of them (specifically MadLeomon) have a lot of info to deal with, and too many headers might bog the page down unacceptably. Or, we could have it be "MadLeomon, Green Zone army, Neptunmon, Island Zone army", etc.(ಠ_ೃ) Bully! 23:06, October 26, 2010 (UTC)

Digimon Xros Wars: The Boy Hunters Who Leap through Time

Digimon Xros Wars: The Boy Hunters Who Leap through Time should have it's own page IMHO. It's set several years later, like Adventure 02 was compared to Adventure, and therefore most of the cast has been replaced and Taiki is older. It's a new sequel series. Digifiend 09:44, August 19, 2011 (UTC)

(1) Provide a source, and (2) wait for the thing to actually exist, and then we'll talk. This is an encyclopedia, not a news site. Now activating Project: SPIDERS EVERYWHERE 12:41, August 19, 2011 (UTC)
Then it shouldn't be mentioned period, eh? The source is a Japanese scan. It's already been uploaded here, and confirms that the show starts on October 2nd and shows the new cast.
Xros2

Digifiend 22:53, August 19, 2011 (UTC)

...no. Gotdammit, use your head.
  1. We have no proof that the final series is set several years later
  2. We have no proof that most of the cast has been replaced
  3. We know that Taiki is said to have "grown up", but that's not surprising, and considering the title, it makes no implications about when the series is set
  4. We have no proof that is considered a sequel series, and not just a third arc like Death Generals was
  5. All we know for certain is that Death Generals will be followed by Boy Hunters
  6. Even that is suspect, given V-Jump's track record.
  7. But we mention it here because it is sourced, and it's included on this page because that is all we know about it.

Again, wait for us to have actual, reliable, citable info before demanding that we give it its own separate page. Now activating Project: SPIDERS EVERYWHERE 00:16, August 20, 2011 (UTC)

That scan includes Yuu—who is clearly several years older. Digifiend 17:38, August 23, 2011 (UTC)
What part of "citable info" do you not understand? Hell, just your claim that "older-looking Yuu = several years later" is laughable, in light of what we got in Death Generals with regards to Kiriha and Nene. I mean, are you really unaware of how unreliable these little scans are, even if we're just dealing with the words? Even just for the premier scans, the Frontier one had completely different color schemes for each of its characters. There is still plenty open to change, so we're not going to go reorganizing everything based on what may turn out to be something that will only ever appear in that scan, like when we were shown blue ZekeGreymon or red OmegaShoutmon, or when the V-Jump had the wrong titles and dates for several of the upcoming episodes. Now activating Project: SPIDERS EVERYWHERE 19:33, August 23, 2011 (UTC)

Just to circumvent all this speculating and foruming and all manner of time-wasting, I'll say the following, as an administrator:

Yuu + Partner

So, I understand it says unless there is a quote etc. I don't know the exact quote, as I can't remember it. But DarkKnightmon did in fact say he had no further use for Yuu when he got back to the castle. At the VERY LEAST, he should be removed from the list as Yuu's partner. He clearly was using Yuu, which was acknowledged when he stated he had no further use. On top of this, Cutemon is listed as Akari's Digimon—by this logic, there should be no issue whatsoever listing Damemon as Yuu's partner (he showed much more compassion to Damemon than Akari ever did for Cutemon). Although not sourceable, this is also further reinforced via the Time Traveling Boys picture.

TLDR; At the very least, Darknightmon should be removed as Yuu's partner. He clearly stated he had no further use for Yuu. Damemon SHOULD be added as his partner, but there is no "sourceable" place that states this, other than the scenes in which he cries when Damemon dies. 99.162.156.148 14:11, September 3, 2011 (UTC)

Cutemon is explicitly stated as Akari's partner in the Digimon Xros Archive cards that summarize the series. DarkKnightmon, MusoKnightmon, and DarknessBagramon are explicitly stated as Yuu's partners in Super Digica Taisen, and in the anime. At this point, Damemon is dead, and he was only ever stated to be Yuu's bodyguard as placed by DarkKnightmon. DarkKnightmon has a dysfunctional relationship with Yuu, to be sure, but he had that with Nene, too.
Furthermore, because DarkKnightmon has been explicitly stated to be Yuu's partner, he will remain listed as Yuu's partner pretty much indefinitely. This wiki summarizes the series, not just the current episode, and we've only made small allowances for when characters changed armies. Now activating Project: SPIDERS EVERYWHERE 15:08, September 3, 2011 (UTC)
The new preview shows Yuu in a CAGE due to DarkKnightmon. I understand it summarizes it as a whole. However, multiple digimon are listed on Nene and Kiriha. LOGICALLY, I don't see what the hard part of adding Damemon to Yuu is, considering Yuu himself pretty much showed that he considered Damemon his partner with how he talked to him. Secondly, NO, he was not only ever stated to be a partner by DarkKnightmon. Watch the recent episodes again. Damemon appears in the real world, telling Yuu that he had been searching for him. He was just like Gatomon, searching for his partner. DarkKnightmon then intervened, and had Yuu activate the Xros Loader, before leaving, taking Damemon back with him. Damemon then explains he was told that by lying to Yuu he would protect him.—USING LOGIC, Damemon was his destined partner, and was pretty much said on screen when Damemon told Yuu he was searching for him forever. Otherwise, Gatomon is no more a partner to Kari than Damemon is to Yuu. The information we had changed, therefore, the information in the article should. Changes were made for Sparrowmon, and then Mervamon. Damemon has shown MUCH more of a partnership to Yuu than Mervamon does to Nene. On top of this, as I said, we have vocal confirmation from Damemon himself that he had been searching for Yuu for years. 99.162.156.148 10:21, September 5, 2011 (UTC)
So anyway, I'm going to ignore all of this except for one point, since as I said before, this is a wiki, you must have explicit sources to make claims (i.e., comparative arguments like you're tying to make are meaningless). As to Damemon never being said to be Yuu's partner: he hasn't. The quote you are trying to use as proof is taken massively out of context -- the following scene shows that SkullKnightmon, Tyutyumon, and DeadlyAxemon sent Damemon to look for Yuu, not that he has been looking for Yuu out of any kind of destiny. Furthermore, DigiDestined don't exist in Xros Wars. Digimon choose their own Generals to lead their armies and become King, there is no prophecy about it. In the manga, Generals are chosen from among humans that have a special Xros Code, but you do not need to be a General to have a partner (Akari is explicitly considered Cutemon's partner by Bandai), and even if you are a General, you might not have a partner (Kotone, at first). The Digimon choosing its General is exactly what we see with SkullKnightmon -- he even gives Yuu the X Loader, and is the subject of Yuu's first DigiXros.
When Young Hunters starts airing, and if it explicitly says "Damemon is Yuu's partner", then we can add Damemon to Yuu's list of partners. DarkKnightmon will not be removed (it may be qualified as (former), depending on circumstances). Until then, the onus is on you to provide any kind of quote explicitly stating "Damemon is Yuu's partner", from an official source. Having translated the official profiles myself, and having watched each of the Death Generals episodes looking specifically for such a claim, I doubt you will find such a quote. I advise patience, and to remember that the purpose of this wiki is to report what has actually been published, not our own fan-theories about how we want things to be.Now activating Project: SPIDERS EVERYWHERE 04:31, September 6, 2011 (UTC)

Is Digimon Adventure 02 merged with Digimon Adventure, Noooooo. Then Xros Wars should not be merged with its sequel series!!!!

Alteisen Riese 04:15, April 1, 2012 (UTC)

PS Yes I ripped off one of Uncle from Jackie Chan Adventures lines with my entry.

Please actually look into the given rationale. The episode numbering never restarted, the name is Digimon Xros Wars: The Young Hunters Who Leapt Through Time (a season name, like Death Generals was), and the producers have outright said that it is meant to be one 79 episode series. Now activating Project: SPIDERS EVERYWHERE 05:29, April 1, 2012 (UTC)

i think they should stay seperate. combining that much information into one page would be very confusing to understand because we would have like 3 main character groups, 3 villian groups and like 5 supporting groups. i also agree with what alteisen riese said. this show's story format is almost the same as the adventure format, yet we don't combine those pages, but if we are going to combine the 2 xros wars pages, then we have to combine the adventure pages too.DalekSupreme13 06:56, April 1, 2012 (UTC)

The problem is that Young Hunters continues the numbering of the Digimon Xros Wars season. That means that, while it's a new season, it's not a new series, unlike with Digimon Adventure/02, where 02 restarted the numbering, which lead to it being considered a new sequel series. Lanate (talk) 08:22, April 1, 2012 (UTC)
Dalek: We do not, in any way, have to combine the Adventure pages. The directors have explicitly stated that Xros Wars and its two sequel seasons are intended as one 79-episode series, and continued the episode numbering to demonstrate it. I don't see how they can make it any clearer than that. Now activating Project: SPIDERS EVERYWHERE 08:44, April 1, 2012 (UTC)

Is the director's comment enough to confirm it as the same series as Xros Wars? I mean, there's a huge "THE END" in the finale of Death Generals and Toei said it was a brand new series before the first episode. Shadow Abyss 22:48, April 3, 2012 (UTC)

The people who designed the series explicitly say "one 79-episode series, the longest yet". Also, Toei did not, in any way, say it was a brand new series. Some sidelong announcements on the official sites (which frequently make errors) said "new series", without actually distinguishing it. If we consider Young Hunters separate, we have to consider Death Generals separate as well. Now activating Project: SPIDERS EVERYWHERE 01:56, April 4, 2012 (UTC)
I know they are the people who designed the series, but Death Generals had a THE END in its final episode. It sounds like they are trying to stuff it into Xros Wars in the last minute. If I recall correctly XW was originally intended to be a 52-episode series and now they say they intended to do 79 episodes all along. Is it a official info, a retcon or just the director's viewpoint? Shadow Abyss 16:52, April 4, 2012 (UTC)
It's official info released on the official site.
  1. The directors say that Young Hunters is meant to be a continuation of Death Generals, not a sequel.
  2. The only material that ever explicitly called it a new series was the official site, and while I can't say for certain whether it applied that to Death Generals as well, the official site isn't exactly a bastion of accuracy.
  3. While XW54 said "The End" at the end of the episode, the episode numbering never restarted.
  4. It doesn't matter whether Xros Wars was originally planned to be 52 episodes, because (A) if we're not including Hunters, it's 54 anyway, and (B) the plans for how the series would progress changed drastically by the time Death Generals started. We were going to have DarkKnightmon DigiXros with the heroes, at one point, to form something like a "Shoutmon X8".
  5. This is pretty much the same context as Death Generals, which was also a "make-it-up-as-you-go" situation where the original plans were thrown out and they stuck something new on instead. If Young Hunters gets taken off, so does Death Generals. If Death Generals is merged in, so should Young Hunters. Now activating Project: SPIDERS EVERYWHERE 18:31, April 4, 2012 (UTC)
Actually, the official site is not the only place that called it a new series, the show itself called it that way, which, as far as I'm concerned, didn't happen to Death Generals, and this is the reason I think the staff just wanted to distract the fans's attention to hide the shame of making Digimons J.A.K.Q. (the shortest series), behind the glory of making Digimons GoRanger (the longest series). Anime... PAAWAA!!! 01:29, April 5, 2012 (UTC)/22:29, April 4, 2012 (Brasília)

According to Facebook's page on Digimon Fusion Battles in May 2012, one reports states that Caleb Pearson will be doing the dub voice for the main character, whose name in the dub is revealed as Gerry. The report also states from an interview with Caleb, of what's happening so far with the dubbing of the series, and he quotes...

"We did the first five episodes of the newest season of digimon but it was put on hold almost 2 years ago when the Tsunami hit Japan. This haulted all production as well as distribution. Those 5 episodes have not been released to anyone yet. But I litterally just got word this week that we may be getting picked up again for the rest of the series but no comformation yet." - Caleb Pearson

It does show that the dubbing for Digimon Xros Wars to English is definitely underway, but we'll have to wait and see for more news on their progress.

That was part of an in-house pilot dub used to show to potential English distributors. It is not a real dub. We've also known about this for over a year, when it first came out. See here for more info.
As for the announcement that it is starting back up, this wiki does not rely on second-hand reports over Facebook of what someone may have said. We need direct quotes from a credible source (the official websites, a professional anime news site or journal, etc.), or we wait for the thing to actually be published.192.249.47.177 15:03, June 25, 2012 (UTC)

Nevertheless, it was the earthquake and tsunami disaster of 2011 that had caused the delay of the dubbing. Cynthia149 16:49, June 25, 2012 (UTC)

New parser = (Fusion), but leave (Xros Wars manga) alone? Lanate (talk) 04:35, September 26, 2012 (UTC)
Fu, maybe? And yeah, leave Xros Wars manga and Super Xros Wars alone...and since we have Algomon (Data Squad) despite him only appearing in Savers, I think we're good to go on converting all of the parsers over.
By the way, I figured out a way to get the regular expressions to convert stuff coded as [[X (Adventure)|TARGET]] to {{c|TARGET|a}}, I just have to find where I wrote it down. We can enact it once I find the notes. Stuff coded using the old wikipedia format of [[X|TARGET]] is still a hand's-on thing, though. Now activating Project: SPIDERS EVERYWHERE 16:31, September 26, 2012 (UTC)

Digimon Fusion? Seriously? *sighs and rubs temples* Why couldn't they just leave it as Xros Wars...? Digimon Fusion just sounds so much like something from a 4kids dub. The Red Grandmaster (talk) 20:22, September 26, 2012 (UTC)

Xros Wars also has its faults. Mainly the whole X = Cross thing which is far from automatic in English countries. And, yeah, fu is probably a good one. We can keep xw as a legacy option for now.
I use \[\[(.*) \(Adventure\)|\1\]\] on Notepad++, but I'm not sure AWB would work with that. Lanate (talk) 20:49, September 26, 2012 (UTC)
I'm hesitant to change more links until we get dubbed names for Xros Heart, Blue Flare, Twilight, and the Bagra Army. Lanate (talk) 10:45, September 28, 2012 (UTC)

Moving to Nicktoons

[7]

Looks like Nick's decided to shuffle Fusion off to the upper channel Nicktoons. Very unfortunate, as it'll become much more difficult to watch now for many fans. Will now air with a double episode "premiere" on Sunday, October 13th (Times haven't been announced yet)

Data Files/Data Collection

Are these end-of-episode profiles associated with the in-universe characters or is that too much a stretch? There's a certain implication in the dub with Mikey's Data Collection skits that sort of implies so, but that might just be me projecting. Lanate (talk) 02:54, April 8, 2014 (UTC)

US Dub contains "vocal-only" audio in SAP/2nd track

If no one has realized.. back when Nick would air the series the show would contain a "voice only" audio track via the Secondary Audio. I actually recorded them for the heck of them. Also it's worth note that Nicktoons HD (only works in HD version of channel) it also contains an stereo 2nd audio track. It's invisible to most providers but it's there and can access it using my tv provider. So.. anyone wanna just add the original soundtrack? XD --Vilapupu (talk) 12:43, December 3, 2015 (UTC)

I've found this "DVD Cover" licensed by Saban Brands, where the second arc of Digimon Fusion is oficially called "The Rise of the 7 Death Generals", instead of just "Season 2". Do we want to do something with this information? --Charles.929 (talk) 17:28, July 19, 2017 (UTC)

After making a bit of a research, apparently the image corresponds to the Thai version of the final volume of Xros Wars, as can be seen here. Apparently, the edit has been made by a fan, presumably this one. The thing is that it seems so realistic, that I cannot be so sure yet...--Charles.929 (talk) 21:54, July 19, 2017 (UTC)
