Digimon World Re:Digitize Decode[]

In Decode is highly implied that he's the same DORUmon of X-Evolution. Hope we get a proper translation of the game soon in order to clarify this issue. --Charles.929 (talk) 00:17, April 30, 2016 (UTC)

There is a translated gameplay I saw on youtube, in gundamfinalgames channel. According to that translations the X-Program had been activated before and DORUmon had memories of another time when he was Death-X-mon. --Zeromaru X 00:30, April 30, 2016 (UTC)
So it's the same one, right? If I recall correctly, in X-Evolution Alphamon realizes that Death-X-mon and him were the same being after all. --Charles.929 (talk) 02:13, April 30, 2016 (UTC)
Doesn't that happen in Chronicle and D-Cyber too?Now activating Project: SPIDERS EVERYWHERE 19:10, May 1, 2016 (UTC)
It's probably, but the X-Program as it's described in the game can only refer to the one performed in Digital Monster X-Evolution. In D-Cyber, Yggdrasill is never mentioned, and in Chronicle it is unclear what happened to it. In X-Evolution on the contrary is specifically mentioned that Yggdrasill has been deactivated, if not the entire Digital World would have disappeared (the starting point of the story of Decode). --Charles.929 (talk) 20:24, May 1, 2016 (UTC)
Oh well then yeah. That's pretty conclusive. Now activating Project: SPIDERS EVERYWHERE 15:53, May 2, 2016 (UTC)

world 4[]

shouldn't this be the same dorumon in world 4? they literally use footage from the movie and use some of the characters going with that. so like, the crusadermon X in the game is the from the movie.Marcusbwfc (talk) 04:27, 2 May 2021 (UTC)

I don't remember any characters in-game mentioning anything relevant to that, and the usage of the footage seemed to me to basically be a particularly lazy bit of cross-promotion. I may be wrong, though, it's been a minute since I played it.Now activating Project: SPIDERS EVERYWHERE 20:13, 5 May 2021 (UTC)
the world 4 website explicitly states its the dorumon from the movie. also, it states that agumon, veemon, and guilmon are the anime characters too and name drops their human partners (tai, davis etc). this part of the site says that the game takes place in the world of the movie. Oh and this shows that the crusadermon in the game is a member of the royal knights (so would be the same crusadermon that cameoed in the movie)Marcusbwfc (talk) 22:54, 7 May 2021 (UTC)
I'm seeing where they mention the anime (which I just have to assume is talking about how those species were the heroes of those shows, like how you'd see someone saying "you can catch pikachu, the star of the anime" without it literally being Ash's Pikachu within the plot -- there is zero indication within the plot that your heroes ever had human partners or came from another world, which is such a large omission that it qualifies as a contradiction in my book), but I'm not seeing the bit where it says the game takes place in the world of the movie. To be clear, I haven't translated any of this yet, since it's more of a hassle when it's not in text. Now activating Project: SPIDERS EVERYWHERE 21:20, 19 May 2021 (UTC)
these are the translations I was given when I was talking about it with someone who knows japanese a while back. https://i.imgur.com/4tvxYb8.png https://i.imgur.com/cqb6hZx.png https://i.imgur.com/GyW8RM0.png one of them was a translation of thisMarcusbwfc (talk) 23:23, 19 May 2021 (UTC)
That's fucking bizarre. I guess the implication is that Agumon and the others got recruited to some multidimensional task force, but the plot of the game (as much as there is, this game doesn't even have an ending...) claims that Mecha Rogue X created the X Virus, not Yggdrasill. With no ending, it never explicitly says the X Virus was defeated, but...this really feels like a case of the right hand not knowing what the left is doing, because besides the use of the video in the opening, there is nothing to indicate any kind of linkage like this. Now activating Project: SPIDERS EVERYWHERE 03:24, 20 May 2021 (UTC)
It's definitely silly. But this isn't the first time; the fighting games, digimon masters, digimon racing: its like the games have this weird combined universe where all the animes take place in the same universe/timeline. it does sound like an alternate timeline rather than during the same timeline of the original version of the movie but as far as I can tell these are considered to be the anime characters even if it makes little sense (but then again its not like rumble arena, all star rumble, digimon masters, digimon racing and so forth explain why they also are combined universes so this is nothing new really). but yes we have explicit stuff here that has bandai claim theyre the protags of the anime (amusing they left out frontier, poor flamemon I guess).Marcusbwfc (talk) 03:53, 20 May 2021 (UTC)
It's not the crossover aspect, that's normal, it's the fact that none of this is in any way indicated within the game. Now activating Project: SPIDERS EVERYWHERE 14:25, 20 May 2021 (UTC)
so are we going with them being those characters?Marcusbwfc (talk) 17:43, 20 May 2021 (UTC)
Honestly, I'd like to have a community discussion about it, because this is a pretty big change based on a pretty meager source, even if the claims are (afaik) explicit. I would need to check the translations for myself to start with, so let me do that once I get some free time. If you would be willing to check through a DW4 playthrough to see what the script says (literally, I think it could fit on one page, it's a very non-plot game), that would also help. Now activating Project: SPIDERS EVERYWHERE 18:47, 20 May 2021 (UTC)
