They used Kokatorimon as the mascot for Thanksgiving.

Is there any way this is within our scope? Now activating Project: SPIDERS EVERYWHERE 23:43, November 21, 2012 (UTC)

Mention it under a Digimon Masters section? We have Snowballmon after all. Lanate (talk) 01:43, November 22, 2012 (UTC)

Cockatrimon[]

Despite the name being spelled differently, "Kokatorimon" is still pronounced the same. How do we want to note this? Now activating Project: SPIDERS EVERYWHERE 17:44, April 26, 2013 (UTC)

According to Wikimon, "Kokatorimon" has nothing to do with the word "tori" and is simply the romanticization of "Cockatrimon" hence why the pronounciation is the same. Basically think along the lines of Centarumon. Chimera-gui (talk) 06:01, July 30, 2016 (UTC)
That's probably incorrect, as Kokatorimon has pretty obvious chicken ("tori") elements to its design. It's definitely a pun.Now activating Project: SPIDERS EVERYWHERE 06:20, July 31, 2016 (UTC)
To be fair, the Cockatrice itself is basically a mythical chicken. It is said to have hatched from an egg that was laid by a rooster that was incubated by either a toad or a snake, has the head of a rooster, would supposedly die upon hearing a rooster's crow, and its name is even derived from cock as in rooster.

Thus the fact that the Japanese characters for cockatrice include the characters for chicken in it makes perfect sense entomologically speaking. Is would also be why Kokatorimon is a monstrous rooster. Chimera-gui (talk) 07:00, July 31, 2016 (UTC)
That's true, but Kokatorimon has the chicken elements emphasized even more than in the traditional cockatrice depiction (which is usually some sort of dragon/chicken hybrid), so I definitely think that there's a pun being used. Now activating Project: SPIDERS EVERYWHERE 12:54, August 1, 2016 (UTC)
