Another Deva appears, and this one's big enough to destroy the city. Can the Tamers stop it in time to save their home?

Synopsis[]

While Janyu and the Monster Makers continue their work with Hypnos, Shinjuku finds itself repeatedly hit by earthquakes. Concerned about the tremors, Henry is forced to take Terriermon from a frightened Suzie to investigate, causing Suzie to wish he wasn't her brother. Later, he meets up with Rika and her grandmother, before the two of them go to meet up with Takato, Jeri, Kenta, and Kazu, while Rika's grandmother covers for her with talking to Rumiko over the phone, but what Rumiko hears causes her to nearly have a fainting spell. With Takato, Kazu, and Kenta, Jeri asks to be taught how to play the Digimon Card Game, revealing her own deck, which includes some cards that Kazu and Kenta don't have, much to their jealousy. However, Rika arrives, and being the Digimon Queen, she offers to help Jeri out herself.

When Henry meets up with Takato and the others, he shows them a poster he got of the Chinese horoscope animals, and reveals the similarities to the Devas, and how they've fought seven of them already in the tiger (Mihiramon), snake (Sandiramon), rooster (Sinduramon), sheep (Pajiramon), ox (Vajramon), rat (Kumbhiramon), and horse (Indramon). With five left to face (rabbit, dragon, monkey, dog, and pig), they wonder who is next, before noticing the strange boy from earlier encounters looking at Calumon. After the boy suddenly screams at them, he flees. Jeri follows, forcing the rest to pursue, only for Guilmon, Terriermon, and Ranamon to sense another Digimon approaching as another earthquake occurs. At Hypnos, Riley, and Tally discover that the Digimon is huge, the data nearly crashing their systems as Yamaki watches in horror, forcing him to contact the Chief Cabinet Secretary to warn him of the threat and notify the JSDF of the danger. Soon, a huge digital field erupts right on top of the Tamers, and the Pig Deva Vikaralamon appears, who immediately begins a mindless rampage through Shinjuku. Guilmon, Terriermon, and Ranamon digivolve to their Champion forms, but their attacks have no effect on the giant Deva's hairy body as he continues to rampage unchecked. Even the JSDF helicopter gunships are unable to engage Vikaralamon, only able to follow at a safe distance.

At Hypnos, noticing the commotion, Janyu meets up with Yamaki, as Yamaki decides there is only one option left now: The Juggernaut. Despite Janyu's pleas, Yamaki orders the Juggernaut charged and ready to activate on his command. Back with Vikaralamon, Takato, Rika, and Henry wish for Blue Cards to allow their Digimon to digivolve to Ultimate level, Henry to protect his sister, Rika her family, and Takato the whole city. Their wishes are granted, and with the Blue Cards, Gargomon, Kyubimon, and Growlmon matrix digivolve to Rapidmon, Taomon, and WarGrowlmon, but just as they are about to engage Vikaralamon, Juggernaut reaches full power, and Yamaki orders it launched to destroy all the Digimon, to the horror of Janyu, Henry, Rika, and Takato...

Quotes[]

Terriermon: "It's gonna be big"
Henry: "How can you tell?"
Renamon: "We're looking up aren't we?"

Good point.

Terriermon: "Now it's a Digimon!"
Henry: "Well, wait for us!"
Renamon: "If we wait for you, we'll be too old to fight it..."

BUUURRRN!!!

"Target locked! It's... A giant pig!"
"Sir, we haven't been practicing our giant pig maneuvers!"
"Wait, we have giant pig maneuvers?!"

I'm as surprised as this guy.

Riley: "Power at 100%! Ready to engage Juggernaut program!"
Yamaki: "DO IT!! DESTROY THEM ALL!!"

Yamaki unleashes his ultimate play against the Tamers and Devas.

Other notes[]

Continuity errors

  • When Henry sees the Deva poster in the shop window, he and Rika speak to her grandmother and then run off without taking it.
  • Normally, though the process of digivolving to their Ultimate formes is called "Matrix Digivolution", the Tamers' digimon merely exclaim "Gargomon[etc.] digivolve to...". In this episode, the say, "Gargomon[etc.] matrix digivolve to...".

Animation errors

  • Renamon's three tufts of fur on her shoulders are shown to be white in the scene where Vikaralamon appears.
  • When Henry is showing the horoscope, Terriermon's eyebrows are missing. I’m
  • One of Terriermon's eyebrows is missing when the group is chasing Makuramon.
